Mulled Wine Thursday, December 12 2013
This recipe warms us up just writing about it. Mulling wine is the process of warming and infusing wine with spices. This drink is the perfect addition to a night sitting by the fire curled up on your couch or serving to guests as they walk in the door from the cold. Either way, this mulled wine will keep you feeling cozy all winter.
1 bottle of red wine (merlot, zinfandel or cabernet sauvignon)
1/4 cup apple cider
1/4 cup brandy
1/3 cup honey
2 oranges, I juiced and 1 sliced
1 box of organic mulling spice blend
organic cinnamon sticks, to serve
Warm up all ingredients in a pot over low heat on the stove. Let simmer lightly for 20 minutes (try not to let it boil!) and then pull off the heat and serve. Try to have an orange slice and a cinnamon stick in each glass for garnish and enjoy!
